We have reviewed the photographer/videographer bags from Crumpler called the C List Celebrity. They were exactly what we were looking for and we wanted to share our experience with them to you.

The Crumpler C List Celebrity backpack is designed for photographers who want to pack up all of their equipment into one pack. It’s tough and versatile allowing for easy transportation from one spot to another.

Equipment and space:

There are 3 sizes to the C List Celebrity. Small, medium and large. Each pack comes with dividers that can Velcro to the inside walls for adjustable sizes.

The small is about a foot and a half tall and fits well around someone 5’10” or less. There is 20 liters of configurable space. This backpack will fit about 3 average camera bodies, one long lens, 2 average lenses (or 3 small lenses), a Flash, laptop and a tripod on the back.

I currently have a Canon 60D, Canon EF-S 17-55 (lens), MacBook Air 13”, Telephoto lens, Sony HDR-550V, Sectonic L-308 light meter, several mics, SD cards, cords, etc... and they all fit in the backpack incredibly well.

On the underside of the pack, there is a document/reflector pocket, 12” laptop pocket, 6 small mesh pockets for SD cards. The sides have 3 stuff pockets behind a zipper. In the front of the backpack there is a removable two-piece tripod holder.

Design and build:

The design of the Crumpler C List Celebrity has some unique features that separated it from other backpacks.

When you are not wearing the backpack the straps can fold forward revealing the zipper to the back entrance to the backpack. If these straps were not as easy to get out of the way, the backpack would be a pain to get into.

The construction of the pack is superb. There are few backpacks with the soft yet rigid form needed to house expenses camera equipment. After using the C List Celebrity small, we have found that it’s construction is solid and works like a charm.

A convenient design element that comes with any of the C List Celebrity packs is the rain protector that fits tightly around the pack for thorough coverage.

The material that the backpack is made of is tough. We would not be afraid to take it to a long trip through a mountainous terrain.

Ease of use:

We have found that using the C List Crumpler backpack is exceptional. I makes taking my equipment from point A to point B easy and without worry.

The removable pieces that can be used to create compartments inside of the bag ensure that all of the equipment we need will fit inside of it. It works really well. Some of the spacers are rigid and some flexible providing either support or just separation from other equipment so that they do not bump.

Using a tripod with this backpack is really easy. We like how easily it attaches to the back of the pack. This is a keeps the tripod from awkwardly hanging or dangling around, stays out of the way, and fits the rest of the compact design.

Conclusion:

The equipment storage areas are great, the design is solid, and it makes being a photographer/videographer super easy and portable.

As an example of their friendliness, when we decided the medium was too large after it shipped to us, they were happy to exchange it for the small at no extra cost.
